Sucker punch kills autistic man, Andrew Young: Knockout killer Lewis Gill convicted of manslaughter

Andrew Young, a 40-year-old man with Asperger’s syndrome died last November as a result of one surprise blow from the fist of Lewis Gill on Bournemouth St. in Dorset, UK.
Closed circuit security camera video taken on that day shows Young casually walking on the sidewalk before getting into an argument with Victor Ibitoye about how riding a bicycle on the sidewalk is dangerous.
After the row, Ibitoye and company continued on their way but Gill paused, cocked back and landed a deadly blow to Young’s face. The trio then walked off, leaving Young out cold on the street.
Young was later taken to the Southampton Hospital where he died the following day from blood clots in his brain.
Gill claimed in court he feared Young was grabbing a weapon from his pocket and acted out of self-defence. He also claimed Young used a racial slur. A Winchester Crown Court judge sentenced Gill to four-and-a-half years in prison on a charge of manslaughter.
Young’s mother said her son had the social skills of a 14-year and was particularly concerned about bicycle safety.
