An elderly man who required the use of an oxygen tank became trapped in a house fire on Saturday (October 18) morning in Fresno, California.
A woman driving by, Beth Lederach, stopped her car and filmed the scene. In the video, another woman is heard screaming that her father is still in the house.
Neighbors can be seen attempting to put out the fire with garden hoses, but the fire intensifies and several explosion occur, driving the would-be rescuers away.
Just then, a man in a blue checked shirt and wearing a blue baseball cap, calmly walks into the inferno and about 40 seconds later, comes running out of the house with the elderly victim on his shoulders.
The rescuer made sure the man was all right and then, without ever saying a word, simply slips away.
We have no idea why the man chose not to take credit for his actions, but we do know this: He’s a true EVERYDAY HERO!
