Dead body: Baby trapped under corpse of dead father survives for 3 days

A 10-month-old Louisiana girl managed to survive a spending several days sandwiched between her dead father's body and the headboard of his bed in sweltering heat.
Police say it appears 43-year-old man Jason Fields of Pleasant Hill was using his laptop when he suffered a heart attack. He collapsed and was unable to avoid falling on top of his daughter, Betty Jean.
There, Fields died, trapping the girl in the sweltering 100 degree heat.
Some days later, Fields’ 5-year-old son attempted to wake his father, who, because of the temperature, was rapidly decomposing. He alerted a neighbor, telling them his father might be dead.
The neighbor called paramedics, who arrived and rolled the corpse off the child She was badly dehydrated and covered in blisters and bore a black mark on her head from contact with the headboard.
Fields has history of cardiac problems and police say the position he was found in indicated he died suddenly.
The child's mother, unnamed in media reports, had been serving a stint in jail, but was granted early release by a judge so she could care for the now fatherless children.
The infant is being treated at University Health, a hospital in Shreveport.
