Cop killer: Pennsylvania state police continue search for Eric Matthew Frein in Pocono mountains

Eric Matthew Frein, who allegedly shot two state troopers on September 12, is believed to be hiding in the Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania. As the search for the suspected sniper enters its fourth week, search teams have discovered more supplies they believe were left behind by Frein.

Among the supplies were 90 rounds of .308 ammunition that matched weapon used in the deadly attack. They also found cans of tuna fish, instant noodles and other food left behind at the camp believed to have been occupied by Frien.

On Wednesday, two troopers were injured when they climbed into a wooden tree stand to confirm it was unoccupied. The floor of the stand gave out and the officers fell 20 feet to the ground. They were flown to Lehigh Valley Hospital where they were treated and released.

On Tuesday, search teams found two homemade pipe bombs they suspect were also left behind by Frein.

Police say they’ve spotted Frein several times in the thick woods but he’s gotten away before they could reach him. The leaves falling with the turn of the season will hopefully aid police in their search for the fugitive.
