This extremely disturbing security camera video of a man stomping on a 2-year-old in China has gone viral.
The child was playing with a dustpan and broom outside a hot pot restaurant in Luochuan County in Shaanxi Province on May 4.
The perpetrator walks up and suddenly knocks him to the ground.
He stomps on the kid's head and then beats him with the broom for half a minute as two passersby do nothing to intervene.
The attack was finally stopped by a group of people from inside the restaurant.
A 28-year-old man surnamed Wang was arrested on Thursday and identified as the perpetrator.
The toddler suffered skull fractures but was not in life-threatening condition.
Chinese netizens have expressed outrage at the incident, with some questioning why the child was left to play along outside, while others said the attacker deserved the death penalty.
