Robbery gone wrong as knife-wielding man finds store clerk is his ex-girlfriend’s mom

Is holding up a store easy as 1-2-3? Think again and think it through.

In order to fund his addiction to heroin, Kyle Iveson decided to stick up a convenience store but he did not prepare for who was working at that time. Or did he? Karen Brown was Kyle’s former ‘mother-in-law’. Kyle and Brown’s daughter had a year-long relationship and had a child together. Much to Brown’s relief , Kyle left them.

Brown described Iveson as a lowlife and somebody her daughter should not have met. The motive was still unclear. Did Kyle plan this stick up in order to get revenge and then screwed up? Or did he really have no idea that Karen Brown worked there?

During the ordeal, Karen Brown remained calm and collected as Kyle Iveson took more than 600 pounds from the cash register. She also pretended that she does not recognize him until after he left. A smart move that may have saved her life.
