The flight-data and cockpit-voice recorders from the private jet that crashed off the runway at Hanscom Field on Saturday were recovered by investigators two days after the accident.

The discovery was announced by the National Transportation Safety Board after 6 p.m., the Boston Globe reported.

Lewis Katz, co-owner of the Philadelphia Inquirer, along with three other passengers and three crew members were on board of the plane and died in the accident.

According to reports, the cause of the crash is still uncertain, but more information about the flight's final seconds are now available.

Reports said the plane never left the ground. At the end of the official runway, it traveled over extra paved surface and then on the grass, running through a chainlink fence before ending into a gully at the edge of the airport, where it was consumed by flames.

According to the data recorders, while on the runway the plane reached a maximum speed of about 190 miles per hour.

Thrust reversers, usually used to slow planes down by diverting jet exhaust to the front, were deployed, and the wheel brake pressures started to raise as the airplane decelerated to about 115 miles per hour, the Boston Globe reported.

Investigators expect to remain at the crash site gathering more information through the end of the week.

A preliminary report on the crash is expected to be issued next week, The Boston Globe reported.
