Atomun - Drones Assist Lifeguards in Rescue Efforts

Today our host Danny Perez first takes us to to see the latest cutting-edge inventions at the Mobile World Congress in the Hospitals of Llobregat near Barcelona, where the emphasis is on Latin America and its mobile operators that are expected to invest millions of euros. Next we take a retrospective look at the 2013 movie Gravity, which transported viewers into outer space and immersed them in infinite loneliness impregnated with the mysterious silence of the cosmos and an oxygen-deprived environment. Some elements of the film, such as spacewalks, an international space station and the Soyuz spacecraft, are not so fictitious. Then on to Chile, where the Perseus project originally pioneered in Iran uses drones to support lifeguards on the beach in their rescue efforts. This week’s program also provides us with some tips to protect children from potentially undesirable information they may be exposed to via internet, smart phones and social mapping services. In the final segment, children share their experiences of using the Teebok robot to gain access to scientific information. teleSUR
