Michele Savoia: body of missing fashion designer found in water near Chelsea Piers

The body of missing fashion designer Michele Savoia was fished from the Hudson River by New York police at 1:20 p.m. on February 15. Police say he may have slipped on a gangplank when boarding his yacht at Chelsea Piers after a night of partying.

Savoia went missing on February 13. Police say he was still wearing the raccoon coat he had on the last time he was seen before he died. His girlfriend, Juli Berg, told the New York Daily News that the gangplank at Chelsea Piers was often slippery with ice. Police do not believe foul play was involved.
