Flight Runs Low On Fuel, Makes Emergency Landing At Closed Airport

An Allegiant Air pilot ended up in predicament when he arrived at a temporarily closed Fargo, North Dakota airport and didn’t have enough fuel to land elsewhere.

Allegiant Air has been under scrutiny lately due to a number of their flights being cancelled or requiring emergency landings.
Last Thursday, when one of the airline’s pilots tried to land in Fargo, North Dakota, they learned it was closed so the Blue Angels could practice.
Rerouting wasn’t an option, as the plane wasn’t carrying enough fuel to make it to an alternate landing site.
