US - Cuba thaw: Cold War-era foes restore ties after decades of animosity

We discuss John Kerry's historic visit to Cuba. Earlier this Friday, the US Secretary of State took part in a flag-raising ceremony at the US embassy in Havana. It was a symbolic ceremony, since diplomatic relations were actually restored when Cuba re-opened its embassy in Washington on July 20th. Kerry, who gave some of his speech in Spanish, said that while Cuba’s future is for Cubans to decide, the US is convinced that genuine democracy is best.
