Venezuela – Parliament Committee Approves Extended Closure

The tension between Venezuela and Colombia has increased again after President Nicolas Maduro extended the closure of the border and his counterpart lashed out at Caracas. A committee of the Venezuelan Parliament met in the border state of Zulia and approved the extension of the state of exception to three more municipalities. The President of the National Assembly Diosdado Cabello said that a firm stand had to be taken against drug trafficking and smuggling promoted by former Colombian President Alvaro Uribe and his paramilitary supporters. teleSUR
