Venezuelans Sign for Peaceful Elections

The Venezuelan government launched a Twitter and signature collection campaign on Thursday in support of a peaceful electoral process. The hashtag #ISignForPeace was a trending topic, and in cities across the country citizens signed a document in which the government pledges to respect the results of the December 6 parliamentary elections. In 2013, the main opposition party refused to accept President Maduro’s victory over their candidate, Enrique Capriles, who accused the National Electoral Council of fraud.
