Venezuelans Sign for Peaceful Elections

The Venezuelan government launched a Twitter and signature collection campaign on Thursday in support of a peaceful electoral process. The hashtag #ISignForPeace was a trending topic, and in cities across the country citizens signed a document in which the government pledges to respect the results of the December 6 parliamentary elections. In 2013, the main opposition party refused to accept President Maduro’s victory over their candidate, Enrique Capriles, who accused the National Electoral Council of fraud. This year the opposition group MUD has refused to sign the document. teleSUR
