Big Noise from Winnetka - Climax Jazz Band 1996
In this clip we feature Chris Daniels on bass and whistling and Jamie Aug on drums. They play the Bob Haggart/Ray Bauduc original recorded for the first time in 1939. We had this tune on our repertoire for almost 25 years and even played it once for Bob Haggart, the composer.
I remember him shaking his head in some kind of disbelief. I’m not sure if that was meant as a compliment or a gesture of “How do they dare”?
Whatever, it has been requested all the time, Chris loves to play it, and it gives the rest of the band a nice break to have another beer.
