Stan Marsh and Wendy Testaburger. \r
Their fourth grade romance is legendary. \r
Now, a short musical film dealing with a fictitious event in the lives of the two adolescents, set to the eponymous song from Early Mourning Escape.\r

In keeping with his trend of mixing quirky humor, with romantic pathos, Nick Hodgson once again raises an existential dilemma with Stan and Wendy - A song, A film, A Heart. On its surface the film appears to be a tale of a boy who got his heart broken by a girl, but once you peel back the layers of the innocent, and adolescent characters; the feelings are universal. Stan and Wendy is at its core an exploration on the emotions of a broken heart. It travels through the necessary steps in the grieving process, while maintaining the whimsical style, and crude, albeit controversial, humor that South Park is notorious for. Nick Hodgsons usual vibrant palette of colors is neglected for the more somber, morose tone of neutral and heavy colors. \r

Stan Marsh has to literally cope with hanging around a broken heart, constantly searching for how to repair it. Stan and Wendy - A song, A film, A heart is a journey to find the universal truth behind loves missed opportunities, and the redemption of the soul. Youll laugh at the humor, and feel the tug on your heart strings from the jeering reality of loves casualties, but more importantly you will feel something.\r
