JACKSON, MISSISSIPPI — On Tuesday this week a seemingly young and lovely American woman told a federal judge how she and her partner planned to travel to Syria last year and join the Islamic State terror group.

According to an AP-CBS News report, 20-year-old Jaelyn Young told the court she and her partner Muhammad Dakhalla, 23, had bought tickets to travel to Syria via Istanbul last year. They were both arrested at Golden Triangle airport last August prior to their journey. Dakhalla admitted his guilt earlier this month.

Young, a former chemistry student at Mississippi State University, was caught out by undercover FBI agents online where she admitted her plans to them. Both her and Dakhalla each face up to 20 years in prison, $250,000 in fines and a lifetime of probation.
