Moose March – New Black Eagles 1988
Probably the purest jazz playing band in the United States. Seven very talented professionals got together and started this band in the early seventies, With professionals I don’t mean professional “musicians “, no, a professor of dentistry, a pediatrician, an civil engineer, a book publisher, an architect, a psychologist and yes, one professional musician. I’m not telling you who is which.
Each of these talented men have been studying, practicing the different styles of early jazz, and in these clips you hear their combined effort at the highest level.
I believe that what brought them together initially was the music of Wilber deParis and his New New Orleans Jazz Band. Through the years they have established their own unique sound and play the music of the early masters in their own honest approach.
Tony Pingle cornet, Peter Bullis banjo, Stan Vincent trombone, Pam Pameijer drums, Bob Pilsbury piano, Eli Newburger tuba and Billy Novick reeds.
