It has nothing to do with constant effort. The whole point is to love God sincerely. If you love God, you should have nothing to fear about. If you truly love Him, you will definitely thrive. Look, I do not mean having faith in God. Having faith is already an integral part of loving God. What I mean is loving Him deeply. How would you fear Him? You will fear offending God. Going to hell or not won't make any difference if you lack the love of God. It is vital to not lose God's affection.
