IPC Statement on Rio 2016 Funding for Paralympic Games

Craig Spence, Director of Communications for the IPC gives a statement to BBC News about funding for the ‪#‎Paralympics‬: The International Paralympic Committee's priority is to try to find the additional funding that Rio 2016 needs to hold the Paralympic Games, starting with the travel grants, so that teams can afford to get to Rio.
The Mayor or Rio has committed to BRL 150 million, but the IPC cannot get access to that until the Rio 2016 Organising Committee make their accounts public, due to a court injunction. We have urged the Organising Committee to make those accounts public.
