Fatal road rage beatdown sparks public fury in NYC

NEW YORK — Hundreds of New Yorkers are calling for harsher charges against a road rage driver who allegedly beat an elderly man into a fatal coma.

According to the Washington Post, Vincent Tse, 68, died last month after falling into a coma following an alleged road rage altercation.

On Friday Jul. 21, he was reportedly involved in a fender bender with Cleamon Anderson.
According to the New York Daily News, Anderson was with his sister Robin Anderson Scott and was double parked. He opened his door while Tse was trying to get around him, hitting the elderly driver’s car.

Scott, who is an NYPD school safety agent, reportedly told the cops that Tse slipped and fell while getting out the car. But the cops found surveillance footage from a nearby building that they say tells another story. The footage reportedly shows Anderson punching Tse and knocking him to the ground. The alleged assault apparently took place after Tse tried to take a photo of Anderson’s registration sticker.

Additionally, dashcam footage from Tse’s vehicle appears to show the two loudly arguing and capturing images of the accident on their phones following the accident, the Washington Post reported. The video is muffled and doesn’t show how Tse was wounded.

Scott was accused of lying and suspended from her job, reported the New York Daily News. The newspaper said she was facing departmental charges.

Tse suffered a fractured skull and brain hemorrhage following the altercation and fell into a coma. He died several days later in hospital.

Anderson has been charged with felony assault but protesters want stronger charges to be leveled against Anderson and that’s something the Queens District Attorney is looking into.

He’s set to appear in court on Monday, the New York Daily News reported.
