Here are some of the standout features about the wheelbase: The wheel base has 16 bits of resolution and 1080 degrees of rotation driven by a single belt drive. The force feedback is smooth and I would rate the strength of the Force feedback an 8 of 10 which is best in class amongst all mid priced racing wheels. It has the ability to store 5 custom settings so you can set your parameters for different games. It has a quick release system for changing out your wheel rim and it has multiple ports available on it for attaching shifters and a handbrake. It has pre-drilled holes for mounting (which I highly advise doing with this wheel because of the force feedback strength ) and comes with a table clamp (which I will talk more about in a few minutes).
The P1 steering wheel rim is made of a texturized rubber material and is 30 cm which is larger than other rims at the same exact price point. The metal center plate has lots of buttons and an analog stick dpad . The action buttons are labeled with the traditional Xbox A B X and Y buttons are in the gamepad style layout. It has an LED display on it so you can see and change the parameters of your custom settings. I was surprised by how easy it is do even in the middle of a race if you get on a good straight away. The wheel is pretty light weight which works well with the force feedback of the wheel base and while its not my favorite fanatic rim you can always upgrade it later with a better one from their website. I actually had an issue with the rim when I first hooked it up it wasn’t getting power and I had to tighten the screws on the front of it to get it to work.
The pedals are the shining star of the CSL Elite bundle. They are made of all metal and Each pedal features its own unique resistance so for example the throttle feels easier to push down than the clutch. Both the throttle and clutch have 12 bit resolution and the brake has 10 bit…anything with 10 bit or more resolution is good in my book. The pedals have an awesome modular design so you can move the pedals around. For example if you like to heel toe brake you can move the whole brake pedal closer to the throttle. Another great feature is you can adjust the feel of the load cell really fast by changing out the elastomer spacers...it comes with four different weight options that you can mix and match.
Each piece can be bought individually from the Fanatec Website. The Wheel base goes for 300, the P1 rim is 140 and the 3 pedal set with the load cell brake is 200. You can get it all bundle together with a copy of Assetto Corsa for the Xbox One for 640 at the fanatec website.
