KOMSOMOLSK-ON-AMUR, RUSSIA — A 16-year-old Russian kickboxer chopped off another teen’s head and showed it to his girlfriend to prove his love for her.

The chilling incident took place last Friday in the city of Komsomolsk-on-Amur in Russia’s Far East. Police say Nikita Rasskazov thought his 19-year-old victim had harassed his girlfriend, Olena Matsneva, who is 17.

Rasskazov met his victim, Artyom Shustov, in a park to talk about the issue. The two started fighting, and Rasskazov stabbed Shustov twice with a kitchen knife. Then he sawed his head off, Siberian Times reported.

Rasskazov hid Shustov’s head in his backpack and abandoned his body in a different part of the park. The next day, he presented Shustov’s head to Matsneva to show her how much he loved her.

Later, he put rocks in the backpack holding Shustov's head and chucked the bag in a river. Apparently, Matsneva had approached Shustov at a party. But she later told Rasskazov that Shustov had “harassed her.”

Rasskazov is now being investigated for murder.
