On Saturday, 97-year-old twin sisters living in Barrington, Rhode Island were pronounced dead shortly after a neighbor found them lying on the ground outside one of the sisters' home, reports the Washington Post.
Martha Williams was discovered in the driveway, and her sister Jean Haley was located in the garage.
Authorities believe the two fell on Friday night after returning from dinner with their younger sister, notes WCAU.
They speculate that Williams was the first to go down, and, in the process of attempting to call for help, Haley tripped on a rug, reports Providence Journal.
Weather is a likely key player in their passing, as temperatures on Friday night dipped to 16 degrees Fahrenheit.
The family of the twins has not yet commented on the deaths, saying they are too upset to talk about their loss at this time.
