A man returning home from a Mexican vacation with his wife reportedly had a travel experience he will likely not forget.
CNBC reports that while onboard a United Airlines flight from Houston to Calgary, he was reportedly stung by "a creature that appeared to be a scorpion."
The small but terrifying animal somehow found its way to the plane and had apparently been hanging out in an overhead bin.
It eventually dropped into the passenger seating area, landing in the hair of Richard Bell, notes CBC News.
Richard’s wife Linda admits that her first thought was, “…aw, it kind of looks like a little lobster.”
It no doubt became a lot less cute when a fellow passenger reportedly revealed it was, in fact, a scorpion.
Global News notes that Richard quickly "...dropped it on his plate, then picked it up again. That’s when it stung him."
The creature ended up on the floor, and was soon after reportedly squashed and disposed off in a toilet.
Richard, who described the sting as feeling much like a wasp’s, received medical attention upon landing.
He says he doesn’t intend to sue the airline, but he would appreciate some travel credit.
CBC News notes that "Bell said he has yet to hear from United Airlines, but that's likely because he had switched seats with another man in order to sit next to his wife."
