Shanghai Tower: Riding the world's fastest lift at 42.8 miles per hour

The Shanghai Tower in China, installed by Mitsubishi Electric in early July of 2016, was originally announced as the world’s fastest elevator on Dec. 1, 2016. The NexWay elevator spans 121 stories and reaches a speed of 42.8 mph, according to the Guinness World Record website.
