John Legend becomes first recipient of social justice award!

This week, John Legend will become the first recipient of the Salem Advocate for Social Justice award and must accept the honor from Salem State University on Tuesday. Legend is set to perform and also discuss the work he's been doing with criminal justice, education, and other fields dealing with social issues. The Salem Award Foundation for Human Rights and Social Justice grants the award Legend, a 10-time Grammy award-winner, wrote the song "Glory" for the 2014 film 'Selma,' which went on to win an Academy Award and Golden Globe.
