Ben Affleck Won't Let His Kids Act Until They're 18

Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner may be Hollywood A-listers, but that doesn’t mean they want their kids to follow in their footsteps. According to People, the 44-year-old was speaking at a Q&A when he revealed that his kids will have to become legal adults before he and Jennifer will allow them to take up acting. Ben said that he got into the business as a child, and he wouldn’t change that. But he also wouldn’t want to take his kids and put them out there before they were 18. He added that once they’re 18 and they want to make those choices and do that kind of thing, that’s fine. But being a child actor, he just knows too much of the downside of what that can be like. Ben said that he had some great rewards and he probably wouldn’t have made it as an adult had he not built up that body of work as a kid, so it’s a strange thing. His kids would be good in a school play, so if they can handle that, they’re in good shape. Affleck has recently finished his second stint in rehab for alcohol abuse.
