Hangry bear smells brownies then tries to get into Connecticut home

AVON, CONNECTICUT — Yogi and Boo-Boo may take the cake for most resourceful, but this Connecticut black bear clearly wins for persistence.

WFSB reports that the large animal had been lured by the smell of freshly baked brownies and followed it all the way to the source — the home of a little old lady in Avon, Connecticut.

Images show the bear perched on the deck and pressed up against the glass door. It was able to open the screen door, but apparently couldn’t figure out the glass slider. The animal then went around the deck and tried to enter through other doors.

The terrified homeowner asked her neighbors for help, but no amount of screaming, pounding or yelling could scary the nosy ursine brownie lover away.

Even though the experience is probably harrowing in person, photos of the chocolate-hungry bear are adorable, and the internet approves.

The bear did eventually give up on its brownie quest and left, to the homeowner’s great relief.
