Versova Beach was one of Mumbai’s dirtiest beaches until 2015, when Afroz Shah stepped in. He recruited a group of volunteers and together they cleared over 6.6 million pounds of waste. Now they’re tackling the issue of open defecation on the beach by leading an initiative to give locals access to clean toilets.
