Following on from other popular Electro-Harmonix keyboard emulator pedals such as the C9 Organ and Key9 Electric Piano, the new EHX Synth 9 allows guitarists and bassists access to 9 vintage inspired synth tones, without having to learn how to play a keyboard!
Onboard emulations include the classic Oberheim OB-X, Moog Minimoog, Korg Polysix, ARP String Synth, Moog Taurus and the Sequential Circuits Prophet 5. The rather clever polyphonic algorithm that the Synth 9 uses to track the notes you play, means that there's no need for any specialist pickups or MIDI, you just plug in with a standard guitar or bass.
