Attorney General Jeff Sessions traveled to El Salvador on Thursday, June 27, to meet with law enforcement officials to discuss the MS-13 gang.Sessions met with the El Salvadoran President Salvador Sánchez Cerén and Attorney General Douglas Melendez and then convened with law enforcement officials for what he called a “transnational anti-gang task force.”While President Donald Trump has criticized Sessions in the past few weeks, battling the MS-13 gang is a focus for the Trump administration right now. On Friday, Trump tweeted that he was heading to Long Island, an area that is “under siege” by MS-13 gang members. Credit: Ministerio de Relaciones Exteriores de El Salvador via Storyful
