Dr. Fazale Rana: Why the theory of evolution is dominant in the scientific community

Part of the reason why many people think that the origin of life has to be through mechanism is because of this commitment to there not being a God and to try to explain everything in the world around us through mechanism alone. But for the last 60 plus years scientists have tried to explain the origin of life through mechanism and they failed time and time again. And what to me ironic is the work that's being done to try to show how life can originate on Earth through chemical evolution is ironically showing that you have to have an intelligent agent, because the only way you can get those processes to work at all is in the laboratory, where you have scientists, intelligent agents who are carefully controlling things to make that those reactions happen.
