Is This Kyrgyz Mummy Cursed?

A Kyrgyz mummy is giving the living some problems.

A 1,500-year-old mummy has been housed at the National Museum of Kyrgyzstan since it was discovered in the south of the country in 1956.

The country's Muslim population claimed the mummy was religiously inappropriate, while psychics warned that its spirit was trapped. Disaster loomed, psychics added, if the mummy remained at the museum.

As a result, Kyrgyzstan's Minister of Culture ordered that the mummy be buried, saying it wasn't historically significant.

This move angered the scientific community, which argued that the ancient mummy will disintegrate if it's not returned to the museum.

The minister has since been fired — making him the latest to feel the mummy's wrath.
