Mount Agung in Bali continued to erupt on Monday, November 27, prompting authorities to raise the alert status to the highest level. Dark smoke was seen rising up to 11,150 feet above the mountain.The alert level was raised after the eruptions changed from steam-based eruptions to magmatic, according to the Geological Agency Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (CVGHM), The Guardian quoted.The island’s airport closed on Sunday afternoon, forcing the cancellation of more than 26 flights in and out of the popular tourist destination.Mount Agung’s eruption last week was its first in over 50 years, according to BBC.
