The first night in our new home we lost power. It feels helpless to be back on the grid after all these years and then immediately lose power.

This further supports the idea of off grid living. We are fully in control of our own energy needs rather than being at the mercy of others.

Plus, once the solar panels and equipment are paid for, there are no further costs or monthly bills like you have on the power grid.

I had to empty the garage and clean it out before we could move our stuff out of the moving truck. The garage was filled up to the ceiling with garbage and stuff.

We plan to take our new homestead off the grid as soon as possible in order to prevent power outages and bills in the future.
