Violet Skies is a singer/songwriter from a little village in Wales whose music sounds bigger than her origins; a widescreen film, sensuous, vibrant, and evocative fusing inspirations such as Joni Mitchell with James Blake, Amy Winehouse with Bon Iver. Earmilk calls her songs “dynamic, emotional,” and BBC Introducing says that Violet has “a voice that can soar...that never forgets to carry emotion.” Her recent EP, This Was Us, is a highly emotive, personal, record chronicling the beginning of the end of a relationship.
Support has come from Elton John, Jamie Cullum, Beats 1, features on Spotify global playlists and BBC Radio 1 & 2 supported singles. She's played multiple showcases for BBC Introducing including Glastonbury, Eurosonic and the coveted British Music stage at SXSW. Her BBC Maida Vale session was promoted widely across BBC Introducing and she's played shows in Berlin, Zurich, Hamburg, LA, NYC, Shanghai, Beijing and is set to play Reeperbahn this September.
She's one half of BitchPlease, the ground-breaking duo responsible for curating and founding 'sheWrites' the UK's first ever all-female writing and production camp, supported by the PRS Foundation's Open Fund taking place at Tileyard Studios.
