Kuoko ist das eigenwillige DIY-Universum der Hamburgerin Jasmina Quach. Schon als Sängerin des Electronica Duos Parasite Single erkundete sie die Musikwelt, u.a. auf Tour mit Künstlern wie MØ oder Samaris.
Kuoko produziert elektronische Songs, die fantasievoll instrumentiert sind, aber immer aufgeräumt klingen. Wie in einem Orbit kreisen Synthesizer Melodien um klar gezeichnete Beats und Krokos eindrückliche Stimme, die mit kindlicher Leichtigkeit die oft melancholische Stimmung der Musik unterbricht.
Im August 2016 veröffentlichte die Musikerin über die Plattform
Bandcamp die Sneak-Peek EP, als Vorschau für ihr Debütalbum. Unter den vier Titeln der EP befindet sich auch der mit Video veröffentlichte Song Birds On The Fire Escape (Kuoko/Curtisfilm 2016), Kostüm und Tanz setzen hier ein Beispiel für den starken visuellen Bezug der Künstlerin, die nicht nur Musik sondern auch ihr Artwork selbst produziert.
Kuoko is the wayward DIY-universe of hamburg-based artist Jasmina Quach. As singer in the electronica duo Parasite Single she got a taste of the musicscene touring among others with MØ and Samaris.
Kuoko is producing electronic songs using her instruments fancifully but still creating a very clear sound. Synthie melodies and distinct beats are moving together in one orbit with Kuoko´s impressive voice that adds a childlike lightheartedness to the musics melancholy mood.
In august 2016 the musician published a sneak peak EP on bandcamp as an outlook to the first album. One of the four songs on this EP is Birds On The Fire Escape. The video to the song (Kuoko/Curtisfilm 2016) gives a taste of the very strong visual impact of the artist who is not only producing her music herself but also the artwork.
