Poppy Smallwood is a singer songwriter from Sussex. Her lilting and folksy tunes have captured the imagination of audiences from Edinburgh to St Petersburg. An early promotional poster in Russia neatly captured Poppy’s appeal – it promised that she would “stir the heart of the most hard hearted biscuit.” Poppy is excited to be working on a project with St Petersburg music collective Sigimur Sound. They bring the music; she brings the vocals and the lyrics. Poppy more usually performs solo and is currently plying her trade in Oxford. Poppy’s major influences are a range of contemporary folk and jazz artists from Britain, France and Russia.
