To wszechstronny muzyk, multiinstrumentalista i kompozytor z Islandii. Jest członkiem-założycielem kilku zespołów, z którymi wydał kilkanaście albumów. Grał w tych kapelach bardzo różnorodne gatunki – od jazzu, przez muzykę operową, ludową, pop, rock aż po metal. Najbardziej znaną z jego grup jest Árstíðir – kapela, z którą wydał cztery albumy studyjne (dwa dotarły do szczytu listy najpopularniejszych płyt na Islandii) i koncertował w ponad 30 krajach. Artysta napisał też muzykę do kilku filmów. W 2016 Ragnar Ólafsson rozpoczął solowy projekt pod własnym nazwiskiem, pokazując kolejną stronę swojej twórczości. Tym razem to spokojne, nastrojowe granie w nurcie singer-songwriter.

Ragnar Ólafsson is a versatile musician, multi-instrumentalist and composer from Iceland.
He has released one dozen albums with various bands and performed music in styles ranging from jazz and opera to folk, pop, rock and metal.
Ragnar's affinity for forming and playing with bands started when he grew up in Gothenburg, Sweden. In early years he went through a colorful palette of bands and band-members which included Olof Dreijer (from the Knife) and singer-songwriter Jens Lekman.
After High School Ragnar moved to Svalbard where he worked for two years while building the world's northern-most band at the time
