"As a songwriter, I have to admit that the term 'songwriter' can at times be overrated and even misleading. Although it's true that I've written the lyrics and basic music of my own songs, whatever riffs, solos, beats, & rhythms that the other folks I collaborate with add to my songs are most of the times purely their own creations and the result of their own brilliant imagination and musical power. On the other hand, maybe after all, these additional melodies are somewhere hidden in original songs and other musicians kind of discover them.
