Fire Burns Out of Control in Southeast Melbourne

A fire that broke out in a nature reserve in Melbourne’s southeast on December 27 prompted the evacuation of forty homes as firefighters struggle to contain the blaze.Melbourne Fire Brigade said they were battling a a grass fire in Cheltenham that broke out near a golf course and a local cemetery, warning nearby residents to evacuate.ABC reported that over a dozen fire trucks, four helicopters and 90 firefighters were on scene; the flames hard consumed about five to six hectares of land including some grassland in the cemetery.
