It Snowed in the Sahara for Only the Fourth Time in the Last 37 Years According to Forbes, some dunes had up to 16 inches of snow on them. The snow fell near the Algerian town of Ain Sefra, commonly referred to as "the gateway to the desert." Snow didn't last very long, melting as the temperature rose, but a few locals still managed to have some fun!
