Trump: I'm 'Not Happy' About How DACA Negotiations Are Going

President Trump on Friday said he's "not happy" about how DACA negotiations are going.

President Trump on Friday said he's "not happy" about how immigration-related negotiations with Democrats are proceeding.
He made that remark during a Customs and Border Protection roundtable in Virginia and weeks prior to the March 5 deadline for Congress to come up with a legislative solution for 'Dreamers,' undocumented immigrants brought into the U.S. as children.
"I really am not happy with the way it's going from the standpoint of the Democrats negotiating," Trump said. "DACA is something [that should] absolutely be easy to do and I don't think the Democrats want to take care of the DACA recipients."
"So you know, when you ask how is it going, we want to make a deal," the president added. "I want to make a deal because...we need protection in this country. We have people coming into this country, MS-13 and others that the likes of which we've never seen come into our country. So I think that we are trying to make a deal. We're going to see, but the Democrats, I really believe they don't want to make a deal."
On the other hand, Democrats like Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer have criticized Trump for his negotiating tactics.
"Negotiating with President Trump is like negotiating with Jell-O," Schumer said during the government shutdown in January. "It's impossible to negotiate with a constantly moving target."
Trump announced in September that he would be ending the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program and tasked lawmakers with creating a plan that will offer continued protections to the program's roughly 800,000 participants.
