Meryl Streep to join cast of HBO show "Big Little Lies"

When we heard Meryl Streep’s ‘Big Little Lies’ casting news, we were surprised but not as surprised as the series’ main star Nicole Kidman, who didn't think Meryl Streep would join the cast.
The 68-year-old multi-Academy Award winning actress was announced to be joining the hit HBO show as the mother-in-law of Nicole's character, last month, but despite the part being written with the screen legend in mind, her new co-stars never expected her to sign up for the TV series.
Speaking to 'Entertainment Tonight', 50 year old Nicole said that although they wanted the legendry actress on board, they didn’t think they’d get her.
The first season of 'Big Little Lies' received critical acclaim when it aired early last year and if the news is anything to go by, the second season will be even better!
