Trump On DACA: 'It’s March 5th And The Democrats Are Nowhere To Be Found'

President Trump on Monday slammed Democrats on DACA.

President Trump on Monday lashed out at Democrats over the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program.
"It's March 5th and the Democrats are nowhere to be found on DACA. Gave them 6 months, they just don't care. Where are they? We are ready to make a deal!" Trump tweeted.
The president echoed that message at the recent Conservative Political Action Conference.
"The Senate Democrats and the House Democrats have totally abandoned DACA," Trump said during his address last month. "We get the reputation — like DACA, it's not Republican. Well, let me tell you, it is Republican, because we want to do something about DACA, get it solved after all these years."
"The Democrats are being totally unresponsive. They don't want to do anything about DACA," Trump added. "It's very possible that DACA won't happen, and it's not because of the Republicans. It's going to be because of the Democrats."
On the other hand, Democrats like Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer have criticized Trump for his negotiating tactics.
"Negotiating with President Trump is like negotiating with Jell-O," Schumer said during the government shutdown in January. "It's impossible to negotiate with a constantly moving target."
Trump announced in September that he would be ending the DACA program and gave lawmakers until March 5 to come up with a legislative solution for 'Dreamers,' undocumented immigrants brought into the U.S. as children.
However, NPR notes, "with ongoing court battles over the program, DACA will almost certainly stay in place beyond March 5. Two separate federal courts have blocked the president from ending the program."
