"The Abandoned School House at Atsion Village" (Axis Video)

This single room school house, located off of Route 206 and on Quaker Bridge Road, exists within the ghost town of Atsion. The original building was built in 1872 and then reconstructed in 1914. The schoolhouse is located up the street from the formerly named Atsion Church, now the Grace Bible Baptist Church.

According to records, the school was shut down in 1937 and was then used as a private home until the 1950's when New Jersey purchased the land and added it to the Wharton State State Forest.

The school was a tiny "one roomed" teaching environment and never exceeded 30 students at any given time.
