Revell 1/500 Scale STAR TREK Into Darkness U.S.S. Enterprise Buildup PT 1

Part 1 of my 1/500 scale Revell Star Trek Into Darkness U.S.S. Enterprise buildup.\r

I have begun the build by test fitting the parts and then cleaning them all off with some soap and water to get rid o the mold release agents. Next the parts were sprayed down with some adhesion promoter and they were all primed on the front and back sides. \r
Next, some flat white was applied on the inside of all the parts that would be lighted to help reflect the lighting evenly inside the model. \r

I noticed that the B/C deck part on the saucer top and spine detail just behind it did not fit very well at all. The notch where the spine meets the decks is not cut at the right angle and would cause the spine to not be able to lay down flat on the saucer top.\r

To fix it, I removed the middle section of the b/c deck at the rear which allows the spine part to lay flush. This creates a small gap bettween the top of the spine and the rear of the bridge cap part. I will add a small strip of sheet styrene there to fill that area and smooth it with filler putty. The next update will show more of the lighting and paint work being done.
