White House Mocked Over Lack Of Diversity In Intern Photo

The White House faced criticism for the lack of diversity in its spring intern photo.

The White House is being mocked online for having what appears to be a predominantly white class of spring interns this year.
The public response began after the Trump administration released a photo Friday showing the approximately 90 young men and women posing in a group shot with the president.
President Trump's selected group has since been compared with one from former President Obama's time in office--the latter of which TMZ called "clearly much more racially inclusive."
People on social media have also taken notice of the current class, with one person tweeting, "Wow. I had to really dial down the aperture.  So much light."
And someone responded to that message writing, "You mean so much white!"
Meanwhile, another person commented wryly, "they're all future Fox News commentators."
And, in a similar vein, someone else wrote, "Probably all future cabinet secretaries at the rate Trump is running through them."
However, one user took a more measured approach to the photo, tweeting, "to be fair, it's unclear whether this is a demand or supply issue."
According to the White House website, political preference is not a factor in the intern selection process, but applicants must be "dedicated to the ideals and mission of the White House."
