Sub-Inspector of the Uttar Pradesh police beat up a man with a belt while he interrogated him

A Sub-Inspector of the Uttar Pradesh police beat up a man with a belt while he interrogated him based on a complaint filed by the family of a teen who was allegedly raped by him. The assault by the policeman was caught on a video in which the cop can be heard questioning him while thrashing him. After the video went viral, the station house officer acknowledged the incident and sent a report to the Superintendent of Police. The Senior Police officer said that swift and appropriate action will be taken.
