New York Mets Turning to Familiar Formula for Early Success

At 12-2, the New York Mets are baseball’s second-best team record-wise. The team is winning with the same formula as in its successful 2015 and 2016 seasons. Dominant pitching, solid hitting and a mediocre-yet-passable combination of base running and fielding. Despite success, it’s still too early to say whether the Mets pitching staff will stay healthy enough all season. Or if it has enough depth to survive the kinds of injuries that happen to normal MLB teams.
